I would like to automate the weight data entery of products that are
barcoded by placing these items on a weight and scanning the barcode
on them with a simple handheld barcode reader where the weight is them
picked up and appended to the barcode resulting number in a small
table.

We'll do the programming, I just need a scale which is computer
connectable and comes with a Development Kit or API to allow me to
create a small application to control this process and reduce the
labor and error factors.

Cost of the unit is important, and an optional refurbished or almost
new available for sale item on eBay for example would be nice to have
and will play a role in adding a tip. :-)

Thank you.

Hi dustydune,

What are the approximate minimum and maximum weights of your products?

Thanks, hummer

Hi,

We're going to use them for books and book series, which I'm guessing
could go up to a max of 10Kg per wrapped set.

UPS shippers often have a Fairbanks-brand scale connected to a PC.
They make so many of them I think you'd find severl of them on ebay.
