Suggest you have a look at what I believe to be the most exhaustive
online resource for digital camera aand associated peripherals
reviews:

http://www.steves-digicams.com/

I have a 4-megapixel Olympus Camedia D-40Zoom and love it. As for
printing, however, you are better off emailing your photo files to an
online service like Kodak's www.ofoto.com for prints over 4x6, as the
drain on your costly ink cartridges for larger prints is surprisingly
rapid.

Hope this helps.

Don't confuse megapixels with quality. A camera can be high megapixels
but have poor focus and colour rendition, so a good brand 2MP or 3MP
may give a better quality picture than a lesser brand 4MP (and cost
the same or even slightly more). This is why comparative reviews you
can trust are essential.

Same applies for printers, except that the paper type can make an
enormous difference, and you have to take into account the running
costs.

I should have added: so a good brand 2MP or 3MP may give a better
quality picture than a lesser brand 4MP ... provided you don't enlarge
the image so much that pixels become visible.

I find I can enlarge my Olympus 2MP prints up to A4 (10"x8") and the
quality is perfectly adequate for hanging on the living room wall, but
not an art gallery.

I highly highly recommend the following web site:

http://www.dpreview.com/

There are really great reviews, and places where you can view sample
pictures from hundreds of cameras. There is also a great search
feature that lets you compare many cameras at once side by side.
