Hi cd50,

As long as it does not say "Controlled Release" on the label you can
open up the capsule. You could even mix in pudding or something you
drink. So yes, open it up.

Best regards,

Hi cd50,

I've spoken to a company that manufactures Artemisinin and the
contents of the capsule is very bitter. It also is sensitive to
sunlight if opened up. Being that it's not FDA approved:

FDA WARNING:
This prodcut has not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not
intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
Store in cool dry place. Avoid sunlight.

Now being that it isn't controlled release you can open it up, keep it
out of the sunlight while opened and mix it up into anything you
please, being aware that it's very bitter. Also, store the bottle
away from sunlight.
