Hi andreasv,

The following is the result of my research for the most luxurious and
fashionable hotels located in New Orleans.

The absolute most luxurious hotels in New Orleans would have to be the
Maison Orleans and The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans.

The following are descriptions of these hotels.

*Maison Orleans*

“Nestled in the grandeur of the Vieux Carre on Rue Iberville, a street
that once was a cobblestone road for its French and Spanish
inhabitants, stands a preserved and polished boutique hotel - a
personal invitation to experience a perfect hideaway that borrows from
the history of New Orleans and embraces the romance of France. The
essence of a bygone era and a more gracious age begins the minute you
enter Maison Orleans, opulence reminiscent of a noble estate. Within
these walls, it is not difficult to imagine yourself enjoying the
privileged life in a distinguished Old World home.
Extraordinary attention to historic detail is a lavish touch in each
and every guest room, from floor-to-ceiling windows to hardwood
floors. Guests of Maison Orleans needn't leave the premises to enjoy
an unforgettable dining experience in either of two very distinct
venues: Victor's evokes images of a lustrous dining room from a grand
era, serving a French-American menu with influences of various world
cuisines; while the French Quarter Bar (FQB) features a more casual
adventurous bistro fare, offering a cuisine inspired by the best of
New Orleans. Maison Orleans is located in the French Quarter, in the
historically restored and renovated Maison Blanche building. It is
within walking distance of many of New Orleans' fabled restaurants,
art galleries, quaint bookstores, specialty boutiques, and
attractions.”

*The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans*

“The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans is the "Crown Jewel of the Crescent
City". The only AAA Five Diamond luxury hotel in New Orleans, this
452-room property has received worldwide accolades for its service,
restaurants, lounges, live entertainment and world-class spa. This
historic restoration and renovation effort yielded over 20,000 square
feet of meeting space, a spectacular French Quarter-style courtyard, a
rooftop penthouse and panoramic views of the Crescent City. Visit the
Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans and enjoy a five-star caliber dinner or a
bowl of gumbo, enjoy champagne by the glass or a Bloody Mary made to
order, enjoy a premium cigar from the walk-in humidor or a chard of
chocolate from the chocolate cart, all amidst the elegance and
refinement that is the Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans.
All guest rooms are appointed in timeless Southern décor and such
luxurious provisions such as feather beds and duvet covers,
300-threadcount Frette sheets, multi-line telephones with hold

This researcher overlooked the "grande dame" of luxury hotels in New
Orleans, i.e., the Windsor Court. Consistently ranked top 10 in THE
WORLD (by many, including Conde' Nast), all others pale by comparison.

The other recommendations are fine, but the Maison Orleans did not
deserve mention.

New Orleans is the coolest city, a notch ahead of NYC and San Fran, I
hope you'll agree.
