What is a reasonable price to pay for bifocal prescription lenses (not including the price of the frames) with anti-scratch and anti-reflective coating? This is for near-sightedness with astigmatism. (I can't see anything without glasses -- up close or far away). If geography matters, this would be in the San Francisco Bay Area. This optician is the only one who get the prescription right -- half a dozen others did not get it right over the years. My optician wants $275 just for the lenses and I am wondering if that is reasonable. Thank you. Cynthia | |

I would expect that many things will cost more in the San Francisco area than in my part of the country (northeastern Oklahoma), but $275 sounds high to me. A few months ago I paid $125 for progressive bifocal lenses with anti-scratch and anti-reflective coatings, and a slight tint. |
