During recent visits to Tijuana I've seen some gorgeous wooden
furniture, some rustic and some not, but apparently all built in
Guadalajara and shipped to TJ. (Most of it seems to be Mesquite
orAlder.) I'm building a new fairly high-end custom home in San Diego,
need I'll need a ton of furniture and cabinetry... so I thought it may
be worth my while to fly to Guadalara for a week or 2 to scout out the
factories and the pricing of furniture. Does anyone have any detailed
contacts or recommendations for me? The closer to the source
(factory/studio) the better. In addition to freestanding furniture,
I'm considering having the entire kitchen and bathroom cabinets and
even my fairly elegant library--and considering doors and windows. Any
tips, suggestions and contacts greatly appreciated!

To be even more precise: I've heard that Tlaquepaque and Tonala in
Guadalajara are the best bets for really beautiful furniture. So, any
resources in those 2 towns especially would be appreciated. Also,
anyone have firsthand experience with having kitchen cabinetry or
library shelves/cabinetry built in Mexico and shipped to border for
installation in U.S.?
