Where to find the Inter (state) transfer treaty for inmates to change
states. I tried PPCAA.NET both caps and small letters but no results
there. It had been suggested I try it.

Hello.

The Interstate Corrections Compact is the "transfer treaty" under
which change of state by inmates may be arranged.

Basically, you'll find more or less exactly the same text for the
Interstate Corrections Compact on the web sites of that states that
have signed on to the compact.

See:

Hawaii: INTERSTATE CORRECTIONS COMPACT
http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/Vol07_Ch0346-0398/HRS0355D/HRS_0355D-0001.htm

Arizona: Interstate corrections compact
http://www.azleg.state.az.us/ars/31/00491.htm

Connecticut: Interstate Corrections Compact
http://www.cga.state.ct.us/2001/pub/Chap327.htm

South Carolina: INTERSTATE CORRECTIONS COMPACT
http://www.lpitr.state.sc.us/code/t24c011.htm

Several dozen other states that are part of the Interstate Corrections
Compact are listed at lawsource.com:
http://www.lawsource.com/also/usa.cgi?usi

Note that there are a couple of regional compacts as well (i.e., the
New England Interstate Corrections Compact & the Western Interstate
Corrections Compact). Also, note that text of these compacts is more
or less the sames as to general Interstate Corrections Compact:

New England Interstate Corrections Compact (listed on New Hampshire's
web site):
http://gencourt.state.nh.us/rsa/html/LX/622-A/622-A-2.htm

Western Interstate Corrections Compact (text on State of Washington's
web site):
http://www.leg.wa.gov/RCW/index.cfm?fuseaction=section&section=72.70.010

----------

The PPCAA that you mention in your question is an organization of
states that belong to the Interstate Compact for Supervision of
Parolees and Probationers.
http://www.ppcaa.net/about/index.html

Thus, the "Interstate Compact for Supervision of Parolees and
Probationers" is similar to the other compact, but it has to do with
parolees and probationers rather than inmates.

Again, you'll find the Parolee/Probationer Compact on the web sites of
various states that are members. For example:
Missouri: Interstate compact for supervision of parolees and
probationers.
http://www.moga.state.mo.us/statutes/C200-299/2170810.HTM

-------------

search strategy:
interstate inmate transfers compact

I hope this helps.

Which sites didn't work?

I just checked all of the links, and everything seems to be working.
It could be a problem with your browser or connection.

Three of sites quoted didn't work well or at all. I did appreciate
comment about what ppcaa stands for because that was not what my
friend thought it was! I copied the AZ compact for him. Thanks.
