I am interested in building a website based on IBM Websphere
technology.
IBM's website doesn't make it easy to gather information to help me
decide what next steps to take. I would like a list of 100 or more
websites/companies that use Websphere. A portfolio of websites would
be ideal.
How much does IBM charge for consulting services related to building a
Websphere Website? Is there a list of companies both in the US and
India who develop Websphere websites? How does an individual like me
contact a sales person to gather more pricing information? I hate
dealing with sales people.

I know that Akamai makes use of Websphere. But I've heard they are
expensive. I wonder if there is a list of reputable Indian companies
who can develop websites based on Websphere and can make the website
scalable or able to be "akamamized".

What are the best competitors to Websphere? The interest in websphere
comes
from IBM's claims that it is highly scalable. I want to build a
website that can grow extremely quickly and very large but I dont want
to retool in the middle of things. I'm willing to pay more for a
website that can grow very large very fast. The flipside is that
scalability means also it can start very very small---one web server
and one database server--limited initial investment.

The idea is that the webserver side could grow via generic load
balancing and adding more hardware as it grows. The database would
grow via clustering.

I am willing to pay more for solid information on all of these points.
For example, if alot of this inquiry could be bypassed by simply
pointing out a company who specializes in just this type of
development project--if they are not IBM, then a compelling reason for
choosing them based on costs. Preferably an Indian firm since they
have such skilled workers at low prices.

I would be willing to pay for more for more substantial research on
this topic. Also, a small question--suppose someone picks up this
question and I really like that person's ability to answer questions.
How can I contract them to perform more research for me?

I'm looking too for reasons to build on websphere over weblogic or
even caucho.com caucho.com has a list of pretty impressive sites
built upon it. But i cant seem to find a similar list for
websphere or weblogic.

Hi, jmurphee-ga:

If you find that a particular researcher's abilities are excellent and
you would like to have them answer a specific question, you can
mention their name in the subject line.

For example, "for ExcellentResearcher-ga: How to size diskspace for
Websphere" or something of that sort.

You would not be able to contact a researcher directly, however,
because of the Terms of Service for Google Answers.

best wishes, mathtalk-ga

I want to withdraw this question. I clicked on my account and can't
find out how to do that.
