Greetings Tkreitz:

I found a reference to a "Rottador" at the very bottom of the page at
http://www.dognosenews.com/Stories/FeatureArticles/May%202003/May_Rt_Feature_2003.html
- "Labrador Retriever + Rottweiler = Rottador" This seems to be
another reference name used for the breed mix alongside Rockadore. I
experimented with other variations on the names with labraweiler and
labweiler.

From what I have discovered so far, it appears that the
Rottador/Labweiler is an accidental breed since the references I have
provided below all seem to be about dogs rescued from animal shelters.
It may be that because it is not a recognized breed, there is no one
advertising the sale of an "accidental mix." I wanted to share what I
found with you in case there were some leads among the findings. If
you can't locate one and you really want the breed, you may have to
purchase a registered lab and a registered rottweiler for mating. If
you have friends who also like the mix, you might offset costs by
splitting the investment.

I located a Yahoo group --home page is at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/labchat/ -- you might consider joining
and inquiring there because there was a reference to a rescued
Rottador at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/labchat/message/20134?source=1

I found another Yahoo Group at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/P-A-W-S/message/1936?source=1 through a
message concerning a Labweiler up for adoption in December, 2002. You
may want to join that group and post a request for a Labweiler.

A homepage from outside the US that shows what the author says is "a
Rottador or Rotwabrador" is located at
http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://66.46.177.46/bm/vieillemarde/000477.php&prev=/search%3Fq%3DLabweiler%2Bmix%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3DUTF-8

I also found these precious canine homepages:

Autobiography of a black "Labweiler"
[This is a great tale of a Labweiler - you may be able to contact the
owner of the website to locate a breeder. This Labweiler was adopted
at a Humane Society shelter.]
http://www.geocities.com/iamkcsmom/newfriends.html

The world of Max Labweiler
http://max.fantopia.com/
Links from there at http://k9.fantopia.com/links.asp show the Danish
Rottweiler Club and the Danish Retriever Club but no mention of a
Labweiler club.

You might contact the owners of these two sites and inquire if they
are now breeding the dogs or if they know anyone who is breeding
Rottadors/Labweilers.

I wish I could have located a breeder and I hope these links will be
of interest to you.

Best regards,
journalist-ga
