What are the exact medical terms a DOCTOR would use to describe the
ANATOMY of the upper EYELID: the upper portion under the eyebrow,
including the inner upper corner near the nose, AND the upper outer
part? This question is as simple as it seems: the professional terms,
concerned with ehe eyelid only, not the eye.

Hello Blueenergy~

What an intersting question! Here's what I discovered:

Cilia: The eyelashes.

Conjenctiva: The mucus membrane that lines the inner eyelid (and the
outer surface of the eyeball).

Epicanthus: A fold of skin covering the inner corner of the eye,
common among Asians.

Lateral Canthus: The tissue just to the ear side of the Lateral
Commissure.

Lateral Commissure: The corner where eyelids join, near the ear.

Lacrimal puncta: The openings that allow tears through, found just to
the inner side of the medial commissure.

Lower Eyelid Margin: The edge of the lower eyelid.

Medial Canthus: The tissue between the medial commissure and the nose.

Medial Commissure: The corner where eyelids join, near the nose.

Nasojugal Fold: The slight indentation that runs from the eyelid,
parallel to the nose.

Orbicularis Muscle (palpebral portion): A muscle that closes the
eyelid.

Orbicularis Muscle (orbital portion): A muscle that closes the eyelid.

Orbit: Eye socket.

Palpebral fissure: The opening between the eyelids.

Upper Eyelid Crease: The fold in upper eyelid.

I am typing without my glasses (which are broken) today, which
probably accounts for my typo. It should read:

conjunctiva

NOT Conjenctiva

Many pardons,
