For the years 2002/2003, track the value of the Mexican currency
versus the US$. Make sure you define the exchange rate you are using
(Peso/$ or $/Peso). Did the Peso appreciate or depreciate versus the
US$? Graph the development of the currency over time.

Hi! Thanks for the question.

Based on Peso/$ exchange rate here is the monthly Peso Versus Dollar
figures. It also has a graph.

2003

It seems that the Mexican Peso was very weak in 2002 but then showed
some signs of strength and stabilizing in mid 2003 but got weaker
again by September and October.

If you want to see it from the view of $/Peso just click on the links

Could you please give me some more information on whether or not the
Peso appreciated or depreciated versus the US dollar during this
period? perhaps it changed, but in the end, what would you say
happened in 2002-2003? Otherwise, the other info. is great!

Hi again!

As I said in my conclusion above, the Mexican Peso depreciated against
the dollar at this time. This was consistent in 2002 but somehow
stabilized in mid 2003 but right now is taking another beating against
the dollar. In this case for example, when the Mexican Peso's
numerical value against the dollar goes up from let's say P10.00 per
US$1 to P11.00 to US$1 it means that it "DEPRECIATED" since this time
it takes more pesos to buy a single dollar.

I hope that this enriches my original answer.

Thanks!
