Hello fitzgerald1969-ga, In light of your clarification, I will post what I found as an answer. As I noted, there does not appear to be a Section 1.4-B of Title 26 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Rather, there are Sections 1.4-1, 1.4-2, 1.4-3, and 1.4-4. The subjects of these sections are, respectively, Number of exemptions; Elections; Husband and wife filing separate returns; and Short taxable year caused by death.
