I need to know who specifically said this, and where he said this, besides http://www.sociology.org.uk/a2cinfo.pdf. Political inactivity is itself highly political. If politics is concerned with the distribution of power in society and people are inactive because they feel powerless, this tells us quite a lot about the reality of political structures and decision making in this country. Hello kurmbox-ga, Mr. Kirby has confirmed that he is the author of this quote, and that it comes from the book Investigating Political Sociology, 1995, p. 4. This is the book mentioned in mvguy-ga's comment. (Incidentally, Mr. Kirby also corrected my misstatement that he is a "Dr.") - justaskscott-ga I searched for the following terms, individually or in combination, on Google and Google Groups: "mark kirby" sociology "political inactivity is itself highly political" |

Since the date given is 1995, I wouldn't be surprised if it's in this book: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/books/0003224058/ |
