I am looking for a Real Time (not turned based)strategy game like
"Command HQ". Command HQ was originaly made for DOS machines and even
Tandy DOS by Ozark Software. My boss loves this game and wants me to
get it to work on XP. It does work and runs fine but I would like to
find something just like it with better graphics and sound. It also
must support multi-player, realistic, based on WWII, represent a
global conflict, in short, I want Command HQ or something just like it
but with modern graphics and OS support.

Thanks for the suggestion Rissos, The game I'm looking for will be on
a larger scale. This game does look very well done, however, Command
HQ was based on a huge world scale. It involved troop movements naval
and air deployment on a global map. You decide where to place your
assets and what cities, oilfields, and other resources to capture.
Here is a link to Command HQ I found on Google:

The game is also now in the public domain I believe and can be
downloaded here. Ah, remember the days when a game came on one
floppy?! the first time I saw a game on more than one disk I thought
"Wow, what could possibly take that much data?". :-)

Hi weasel_db,
I haven't played Command HQ so I'm not certain that this is directly
comparable, but I would strongly recommend Sudden Strike as a modern,
WWII, real-time strategy game. There is a choice of missions,
campaigns or multi- player, with a choice of playing as one of several
different countries including France, The US, Britain, Germany and
Russia. Units, including infantry, artillery, tanks, motorbikes,
ambulances and many, many more, are controlled by simple mouse clicks
or group selections, and then clicking on rally points or targets.
Graphics are good but not outstanding, gameplay taking place on
isogonal maps with fixed camera angles. The upside of this is that no
high-end graphics cards are required, so the game can be played on
very low-spec computers (I used a 400MzH laptop with 8Mb of graphics
memory). It's been avaliable for over three years now so should be
very cheap. Alternatively, and probably a better choice, Sudden Strike
2 is now available, http://www.suddenstrike2.de/english/index1.htm
but I haven't bought it yet.

Have you tried Hearts of Iron, I just bought the game last month, it
is based on the years 1936-1948. It has multiplayer, and you can play
as basically any country in the world. It has good graphics, it looks
alot like Panzer General and the game also deals alot with almost
anything you can think of in a country. They call it grand strategic
and it lets you micromanage research, industry, politics, internal
government, and of course military. Here is a website for it:
http://www.paradoxplaza.com/ . I recommend this game, it is great.
