Web link “contact us” fails.
My county council’s web site is derbyshire.gov.uk. On the home page
there is a link “contact us”. Click on this and you get a compose
e-mail page with the address already filled in
call.centre@derbyshire.gov.uk if it is working as it should. But in my
case I get /start added to the end of the address. This results in a
message saying it could not be delivered. Another user has found no
fault with the link. The web master says the fault is mine. I have had
no problem using similar links on other sites.
I have a Dell 2350, XP home, service pack 1, Pentium 4 2.60GHz, and
Hotmail.
My homepage is Google and I get hotmail via the letter icon at the top
of the page. I have a freeservre broadband connection which I
disconnect between web sessions.

Hi,

Several things could cause this type of behavior, but the solution is
normally the same no matter which. You have probably got some type of
spamware or spyware installed on your system.

To fix this go to Start Button->Settings->Control Panel

Choose the Add/Remove Programs

Choose the Internet Explorer and click on Change/Remove

Choose Repair Internet Explorer

Let that run it's course, then restart your computer when asked to.

Go back to the page you have referenced and try the link again. All
should be right with your world now. If it is not, please use the
clarification button to let me know.

Thanks,

Hello webadept-ga,
Add/remove programs has no Internet Explorer as such, but Internet
Explorer Q828750 update only. There is no repair option. Choice is do
I want to uninstall Q828750.

Well.. isn't that special. Must have embeded Explorer in the XP system
deeper than any other.

Click Yes on the uninstall, and let it reboot your system. Then go to
this page:

http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp

Use that utility to upgrade the IE Explorer (If you wish you can get
the other updates as well, by going back latter, but for now, just
focus on the IE updates)

I looked at the source code of the page, and there's no problem with
the way the page is written.
