A few of my friends from work and I all play RPG games on-line, and I
play games such as Pen and Paper AD&D. One of my friends came up with
a question that none of us could answer with any certainty. His
Question was, "Would Frankenstein's monster be considered an "Undead"
creature like a mummy or vampire, or would it be considered a
"Construct" such as a Golem?

Hello valmelcor-ga,

It appears that Frankenstein's monster is a flesh golem, as the
following pages indicate:

"Index to Dragon Magazine: Monster's Manual" [entry in the middle of
the page, "Golem: Flesh Golem : Frankenstein's Monster (The Measure of
a Monster) (254.52)"]
Forgotten Realms: Canon Indices
http://prespos.crosswinds.net/dragonindex.mm.htm

"Masque of the Red Death" [stating about 2/3 down the page,
"Frankenstein's monster, for example, is a flesh golem"]
RPGnet
http://www.rpg.net/news+reviews/reviews/rev_3550.html

"The Allerian Empire Archive > Plane of Discourse > Dreamscape >
Worldforge > Bestiary" [stating under "Golem Types", near the top of
the page, "Flesh golems
Made from assembled bodyparts, like the monster of Frankenstein"]
The Allerian Empire
http://www.alleria.com/forums/showthread/t-15617.html

My sense is that a Frankenstein's monster is viewed as being
constructed from various body parts, not one dead person as in the
movies, and is thus a kind of flesh golem.

The following two pages indicate that a flesh golem is a construct,
indicating that a Frankenstein's monster is a construct too.

I must say Thank you very much. This has been the topic of many of
our discussions since we first came up with the question many weeks
ago. At first I was unsure if I agreed with your answer since my
belief of a Flesh Golem, or any golem in general, were that they had
no will or thoughts of thier own. However, It was the last Link you
gave me (http://pub8.ezboard.com/ffacstheresurrectionquestforgloryv.showNextMessage?topicID=137.topic)
 That had me believing.

Not only did you answer my question fully, but you answered it very,
very quickly. Again, thank you very much for this quick responds.
