Pauline Vermare of the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson (the English

) confirmed for me that Henri Cartier-Bresson is indeed alive, and 95
years old.

According to Ms. Vermare, the best way to contact Mr. Cartier-Bresson
is to write a letter to his name at the foundation, which the
foundation will pass on to him.  The address, also available under
"Useful Infos" on the Foundation web site, is:

I have contacted an association connected with Henri Cartier-Bresson,
to see whether he can be contacted directly or through an agent.  I
will let you know if I receive a reply.

In case justaskscott can't come up with a direct phone number or
address for Cartier-Bresson's current agent, you can try contacting
the Magnum Photo Agency. Cartier-Bresson was one of the agency's
co-founders, and I'm sure Magnum would be able to point you in the
right direction. (And I'd be surprised if Magnum didn't still
represent at least some of Cartier-Bresson's pgotography.) Here are

I think Cartier-Bresson is still alive. If so, he's in his mid-90s.
Last I heard he was retired and a bit reclusive.

How do I know where to look? I'm a photographer (now part-time...long
story), and I usually carry Magnum's US and France contact info in
case I stumble across a newsworthy photo:
