Hi concretenetwork,

After a preliminary search through various directories, I need to
clarify a few details with you.

The type of decorative concrete work is not always readily available.
Therefore, I could give you a list of any decorative concrete
contractors and/or concrete contractors in general, if you see fit.
Also, the first and last names are rarely mentioned. Another
observation I have found is that not all contractors have a web
presence.

Let me know what you think.

rainbow~

Hi Rainbow!

Thank you for your speedy response. The first and last names are not
that important. What I do want for sure is the contact info such as
business name and address. URL will be helpful, but not necessary.
Thank you very much.

Hi concretenetwork,

Thank you for your clarification.
As I mentioned above, the type of decorative concrete work is not
always available. Would you like a list of *any* decorative concrete
contractors or would you prefer a list of *all* concrete contractors
in general.
Please let me know so I can get to work on this as soon as possible.
Thanks.

Hi Lisa,

While extracting the contact information for Phoenix, it became
apparent that out of approximately 230 contractors (in Phoenix alone)
only around 5% have a website and/or email address. Due to the time
and work involved I find that obtaining this information is not
worthwhile.

I therefore propose to provide the following information:

Name of company
Business Street
Business City
Business State
Business Zip
Telephone

Please let me know your thoughts. Meanwhile I will proceed in this
manner.

Regards,
rainbow

Hi Lisa,

To keep you informed of my progress, I am extracting data from 5
different directories for each city on your list. So far I have
completed Phoenix (app. 315 companies) after 6 hours work. The reason
it is taking so long is that I am compliling all the data from these 5
directories and then eliminating the duplicates. This ensures the
lists you will be receiving will be as comprehensive as possible.

The most convenient way to list the data from these directories is in
the form of a Word document.

Could you please take a look at the example below which is the format
I am using:

A A Concrete
7333 North 16th Avenue
Phoenix, AZ 85021
(602) 995-4214

Aalls Concrete
17401 N 16th Avenue
Phoenix, AZ 85023
(602) 993-7178

Adam's Shotcrete
Phoenix, AZ 85003
(602) 431-6657

Aggressive Concrete Placement
2402 West Phelps Road
Phoenix, AZ 85023
(602) 862-0106

Alpine Steel Inc
2101 West Jackson Street
Phoenix, AZ 85009
(602) 254-0218

It would be too time-consuming for me to convert this information from
Word to Excel. I am therefore suggesting to keep the data in Word
format. In this case I would be able to provide you with a
comprehensive answer within 10 days. Please let me know if all the
above is acceptable to you.

rainbow~

Hi Lisa,

Having spent 2 days working exclusively on your question, I have so
far completed compiling the data required for 5 out of the 63 cities
that you have requested. These cities alone amount to an 80-page Word
Document. It is therefore evident that I will require approximately 25
days to answer your question in the form we agreed upon.

As I have mentioned to you previously, I am compiling the data from 5
different directories. This requires significant processing in
eliminating duplicate entries, and irrelevant information, in order to
provide the comprehensive listing for you.

Therefore, in order to complete this project in a timely and
economical manner. I suggest that you take a look at the directories
I’m working with and perhaps choose 2 out of the 5 which you believe
are the most comprehensive for what you require. The directories I’m
working with are:

SuperPages
SmartPages
Switchboard
QwestDex
The Blue Book

Alternatively, being considerably more selective with the cities you
require the information for will help in reducing the time and cost
involved in completing this project.

I trust that you will understand my position.

Looking forward to getting your views.

Best regards,
rainbow~

Hi Lisa,

As I clarified before, using the directories available, there is no
way of filtering the decorative concrete contractors from other
concrete contractors.

If the alternatives I am proposing do not suit you, I will gladly post
the information I have so far obtained as a comment and perhaps
another researcher will have the time to continue as you require.

Best regards,
rainbow~

HI,

Please just send over the obvious decorative concrete contractors you
find. You do not need to spend too much time researching the
contractor. Just go by the name of the company. Thank you.

Hi Lisa,

I'll post for you the list for the first 6 cities I have completed as
soon as I can.

I will then extract the concrete contractors from 2 of the sites I
listed for you previously. In my view, these 2 sites are the most
comprehensive and will provide you with the best information. I will
need a few days to complete this.

Please let me know if this is ok with you.

rainbow~

Hi Lisa,

The following file contains the first 6 cities on your list. For ease
of navigation, I have listed them in the order they are listed in the
question.

Due to the limitations on the server that this file is uploaded to,
please download the file to your hard drive as it will only be
available on the server for one month.

http://68.15.21.151/uploads/researchers/Contractors___1.doc

I propose to list the remaining 57 cities in 6 documents to be
uploaded in the same manner as this one.

Could you please review this document and let me know if the format
and order of cities is acceptable to you.

If you agree with what I have proposed above, I will have the answer
completed within the next 3 days.

rainbow~

As with document “Contractors–1” already uploaded for you, could you
please download the above remaining documents and save them on your
hard drive.

I need some further clarification regarding your requirement for the
list of concrete contractors in Long Island, New York.

There is a list for Long Island City, NY available, however, due to
the small size of that city, there are only a handful of contractors.
I therefore suspect that you need the list of contractors in the
“island” Long Island (which has many small towns) in New York State.

Could you let me know if you require the list of concrete contractors
in Long Island City, or the island Long Island.
