Hi digital,

I have located the number of commercial radio stations, by country, of
the EU for the year 1995. I also have a more recent number of stations
for 10 of the 15 countries in the EU. Would this information suffice
as an answer to your question?

Regards,
rainbow~

Rainbow, thank you, and yes it sounds as if you have the answer, is it
possible that you can post by country as opposed to the just one
figure? However you do it, I will consider it the answer.

Hi digital1,

The following is the result of my research for the number of
commercial radio stations in the European Union. As I mentioned in my
clarification, the data is available for 1995, but scarce for more
recent years. Some of the numbers are mentioned on the World
Information website, while for others I had to search for one country
at a time, thus the unavailability of some.

COUNTRY 1995 2002/2003
========         ======           ===========

Austria 11 50
Belgium 200 200
Denmark 170 250
Finland 52 70
France 698 800
Germany 188 N/A
Greece 420 420
Ireland 24 25
Italy 650 N/A
Luxembourg 23 N/A
Portugal 515 300
Spain 1450 N/A
Sweden 90 90
The Netherlands 310 N/A
United Kingdom 177 300

TOTAL 4978
