Thanks for getting back to me. First I want to apologise if I seemed
less than polite calling you Maccas rather than Mr. Maccas. We
researchers are so used to calling people by their Google Answers
names, like maccas-ga, that I didn't stop to think about how it's your
real-life last name.
An English journalist, Christopher Long, who is descended from the
Vlasto family, has published extensive research on the ancient Chios
families on his website. He has used Sturdza's book as one, but by no
means his only, source. For me, it was all very interesting and I hope
some of it will be new and useful for you.
I'm sure you'll want to explore the site for yourself, but let me pick
out some pages which might interest you.
Nicolas Pandia Ralli (abbreviated below as NPR)
This page says he had two daughters with rather similar names: Marigo
and Mariora. Apparently it was Mariora who married Constantine Maccas:

Pandia (Ambrouzis) Ralli, NPR's father:

Ambrouzis (Stephanos) Ralli, NPR's paternal grandfather, whose mother
was a Mavrogordato:

One of NPR's great-grandfathers had connections to other Chios
families descended from Byzantine nobles, through his Rodocanachi
mother and Vlasto wife:

Long appears to have seen records relating to Mariora Ralli at a
church on Syros:

The surname index will lead to many members of both Mavrogordato and
Ralli families, but Constantine is the only Maccas, I'm afraid:
http://www.christopherlong.co.uk/relations/sur.html
Long's email contact is at the bottom of this introductory page:
http://www.christopherlong.co.uk/relations/index.html
Long's list of people from Chios who died in exile shows how the
Vlastos have intermarried several times with the Mavrogordatos as well
as the Rallis:
http://www.christopherlong.co.uk/per.chiosdiaspora.html
The same page mentions " 'The Mavrogordatico' once the Kampos home
of the Mavrogordato family."
It looks as if there may be more information to come on the Ralli
family. On this page, where Long mentions the Rallis as among the
Byzantine nobles seeking refuge on Chios in the Middle Ages, there is
a clickable link to a page still under construction:
http://www.christopherlong.co.uk/per.chioshouses.html
It seems Rhaoules is an earlier version of the name. Long includes a
reference to their coat of arms:
"Rhaoules (Ralli) Azure, a leopard rampant or."
http://www.christopherlong.co.uk/per.vlasto.byzantium.html
Some of his sources might interest you. One describes how:
"During the C19th great trading and banking institutions such as Ralli
Brothers emerged . . "

Your question led to some fascinating historical material. I hope
there is enough new genealogical information to be helpful as you
explore your family tree. As you have no doubt found, there is very
little information on the net about anyone with the Maccas/Makkas
surname.
You could try posting a message in a Greek genealogy forum:
http://www.greekfamilies.com/
There are some Chios addresses for people called Makkas in the online
phone book for Greece. The area code for Chios is 271:

Please let me know if you need help with any of the links above, or if
anything is unclear, and I'll do my best to help.
Good luck with your genealogical research.
Best Wishes - Leli
