Question ID: 265905
I am looking for a fax to e-mail gateway service. My requirements:

1. Be able to receive faxes at a phone number; be able to send faxes
by e-mail a PDF or text attachment.

2. Cost less than $10 a month.

3. Have a strict privacy policy (i.e., they will not share my address,
e-mail or any other data with any other company.)

4. Be reliable.

The problem is that looking online, the fax to e-mail services that I
see seem:

A. Pretty sketchy.
B. To have very lax privacy policies (either none at all, or ones that
allow them to share my e-mail address with third parties.)

I am looking for a company that fulfills the requirements above.
Please provide a link to the company, and a link to their privacy
policy showing #3.

There is a tax-to-e-mail service that I have used. Its charge is 11
cents per page to the United States, 10 cents on weekends, plus an
account maintenance charge of $1 monthly. It will handle documents
made with Adobe Acrobat 4. Its privacy policy is that it share
absolutely no account information with outside parties (and as far as
I know it has never shared by e-mail address or even sent me its own
advertising). Please let me know if this meets your requirements.
Thanks!

I made a mistake. Its charge is 11 cents per minute, not 11 cents per page.

That's precisely what I'm looking for! Thank you very much.

Good. I hope I described it accurately.

The company is Faxaway. http://www.faxaway.com

It's privacy policy (actually more of a statement) is here:

Is my voice/fax mail private?
Absolutely! Your voice/fax mail account is completely private. As with
your outgoing faxes, NO personal or account information is provided to
any outside groups.

Like I said, I have found this company to be reliable. I hope you do
too.

Sincerely,

Thanks very much. Unfortunately, faxaway has some restrictions that
make it impossible for me to use (2 MB file size / seven page
restriction on PDFs, and support for only version 5.0.) However, your
answer was to the point and very helpful.
