I want to know if the following experiment has ever been formally
conducted and published and, if so, the name of the authors,
publication, and location:
Do two people have better (quantity or quality)
conversation/communication if similar interests are displayed to
either/both parties?

I know that people are attracted to people with similar interests. I
just want to know if if has been formally shown that if you explicitly
display the specific interests, people will communicate more/better.

The people can be communicating virtually, co-located, or through any
type of synchronous or asynchronous medium.
