I want to set up a similar service to makeashorterlink.com. This is simply a database of URL links and a script that generates a unique numeric link to another page. My service will link image attachments to anonymously and transparently forward links. For example, https://answers.google.com/answers/answers-logo-sm.gif becomes http://link.com/646565468167.gif The idea is so that when you want to post a holiday snap, etc. to an online forum web page, but don't want to reveal your image's actual host, you register a link and your webpage looks through the forward to the image. The database stores only links and not files. I hope to set this up cheaply with a host and have it run hands-off. A satisfactory answer would either set out in broad terms how I can get this set up and which host would offer such a service. Alternatively, set me straight and tell me that what I want isn't feasible. | |
