Can I install Windows XP on an IBM 600E? It has a sticker that says it
is designed for Windows 98. The sticker on the back shows a date of
mfg of 11/99. I don't know the size of the harddrive off hand. I would
guess it to be less than 10gig.

According to this page on SteveKraft.com, Becky's laptop,
about halfway down the page, is configured as follows:

Windows XP Corporate Edition
IBM 600E 400 MHz Intel Pentium II MMX Enhanced Laptop
224 MB SDRAM
6.3 GB Hard Drive
56K Internal Modem
24X CD-ROM
13.3 TFT Active Matrix LCD Display
16bit on board sound
3Com 10/100 MB Ethernet PC card (3Com part #: 3CXFE575-BT)

Another page, at Cybershop.com, lists refurbished notebooks
for sale. The first image is of an IBM Thinkpad 600E, and
listed for 'Software' is "Windows 98SE or Windows XP Home",
which suggests that they will install either OS when you buy:

This verifies that you can install Windows XP on your 600E,
even with a 6.3GB hard drive, as in the case of Becky's laptop.
