My question is whether there is an easy way to replace the contents of
one field of an Access table with the contents of another field.

That is, both fields are in the same table.

Thanks.

How much detail are you expecting in an appropriate answer? I can tell
you right away that the answer is 'yes' :)

I don't need much detail - just enough so I know how to do it.

For example, if I have a table with five fields, and one of the fields
is called "lname" and I create another field in the same table and
call it "last", then I want to know how to replace the field called
"last" with the values in the "lname" field.

Thanks.

Dear Google Researchers,

I've learned how to do the task I asked about. I've been told I can
do a simple copy and paste (right click + paste) on the column
(including the column heading) that I want to copy.

Thanks.
