Roosevelt's 1933 confiscation order to turn over all personal gold
coins to the Federal government? How long was their average

This is only related tangentially, but a British coin dealer was
jailed when he tried to sell the St. Gaudens Double Eagle that had
formerly belonged to King Farouk of Egypt.

That arrest had more to do with the fact that the coin was stolen
property and belonged to the US Government.
