Hi, I would like to be given advice on how to move from my xxx@yyy.zzz POP3 account to the same account, but in IMAP format and push back all my email folders as they are back up into the server to be able to access them from there instead of the risk of losing my client data. Thank you. -Dusty |

I'm not entirely sure what you propose will work, and I don't currently have access to anything I can test it out with, so here's a free answer that might help you: Try connecting to the mail server in IMAP mode with whatever email client you use; it usually is a matter of going into account settings (under tools or something similar) and just changing the connection type to IMAP instead of POP3, assuming of course your server does support this feature. When you connect, you will probably see a few new folders such as Inbox and Drafts; see if you can move something into one of them, or create a new folder from the one that is one-higher from those folders, and then copy & paste/drag from your locally stored listings of emails into the online ones. Hope this helps. - bookface |
