I'm looking for ideas to feel safe with my notebook data being backed
up on an FTP server of mine for example.

My problem is that I don't care about the OS specifically, but my
Outlook data and My Documents are huge and I would need to get at
least subdirectories managed on the FTP server to increament the
backups.

I do understand that it might be better to backup locally to not have
long down times by exiting applications and waiting for remote backups
to the FTP server.

How can I address the below needs:

1. Assure my mail and My Documents are backed up properly.
2. Utilize an FTP account for storage.
3. Increment the backups by date and schedule if possible and sense
connectivity before backing up.
4. Ability to restore.

Nothing fancy, no security is required, but a plus.

Thank you.
