"Repairing old ivory"

I have inherited several bronze/ivory figurines from the Art Deco period. Some of the old ivory has been broken and repaired with a glue which has turned very orange and nasty. What solvent can I use to dissolve the old glue without damaging the delicate ivory, and what glue or epoxy do I use to re-glue the porus ivory? I am not desiring to employ the services of a professional conservator and would like to do the repairs myself. |
