I recently moved to California from Minnesota and am in the market for
new auto insurance. However, due to a recent traffic ticket I
received my auto insurance rates are quite high out here. My
understanding is that if I had received the traffic ticket in
California I could have gone to traffic school and had the point for
the ticket removed from my record (which would have resulted in
greatly reduced insurance premiums). However, since I received the
ticket in Minnesota I am not sure that I can do this.

What I would like to know is whether there is anything I can do to get
the insurance penalty for this ticket removed from my record. Here
are some additional details:

-I received the ticket for "Improper Lane Use" in Minnesota in June of
2003.
-I pled guilty to the violation and paid the fine in July of 2003.
Additional details about my plight to lower my insurance can be found
here:

If anyone can supply the answer to my question I would greatly
appreciate it. From what I understand, knocking a point off my record
will save me hundreds of dollars a year in auto insurance premiums so
a favorable answer to this question (if indeed it is possible to do
so) will result in a nice tip. :)

P.S. Please quote the source where you found the information.
Thanks!

I bumped up the price by $5 as I would love to find out the answer before Wednesday.
