I need to find either a die-cast or a wooden model of the A-5 (or
RA-5C) for sale. The jet is '50s-'70s era and served in the US Navy.
Please note that I don't want an unassembled kit; I need a
pre-assembled display model.
Thanks for your time!

Hello Classicsax,
I realize the A-5 may not have been a well-known modeling topic nor
toy topic, so I hope the one link I give you below will be of some
help. It's the website of a custom maker of pre-built planes and they
make planes per order, so I guess you could not order a plane right
off there. I could also get no price quote on the Vigilante though, so
you may have to contact them, but I do think you can specify the size
of the model you want built. Who knows if they may have a built model
waiting, though.

aviation. Die cast aircraft models

- Scroll to the bottom, see that they've made an A-5.

All other results point to model kits, and I could find no die-cast
model that could be cheaper.

I frequent model stores, and if I find a Vigilante in die-cast, I'll
let you know.

If you're in the US, you might want to contact a modelling club, such
as a local chapter of IPMS USA ( www.ipmsusa.org ). You may check if a
member has built a model of a Vigilante, or is willing to be
commissioned to build for you.

Fine Scale Modeler magazine featured a professional modeler named Pat
Hawkey, who builds plane models for a living:

He does plastic models, though, like what I do. ;)

I hope this has been a most helpful answer. If you need anything else,
or have a problem with the answer, do please post a Request for
Clarification and I shall respond as soon as I can. Thank you.
