Hello alexsirota-ga,

Although Canada isn't yet on the Wi-Fi bandwagon quite they way we are
are down south, it seems to be coming on pretty strong, and Toronto is
one of the more well-wired (or is it unwired?) spots in Canada.

You can find a good list of more than 60 wi-fi hotspots in and around
Toronto at www.jiwire.com, a directory of wi-fi hotspots. The Toronto
listings can be seen at:

http://www.jiwire.com/search-wifi-hotspots.htm?command=&ssid=&hotspot_name=&location_type_id=0&technology_id=0&provider_id=0&pay_free=both&favorite_location=0&address=&city=toronto&country_id=2&state_id=61&zip=&radius=10&x=58&y=9

Here are the first few on the list, but by all means, visit jiwire for
the full directory:

Sunshine Cyber Cafe
168-B Eginton Avenue East
Toronto ON

The Hot Table Cafe & Eatery
180 Steeles Avenue W (Unit 25)
Toronto ON

The Croissant Tree - Union Station
65 Front Street W (Union Station - Arrivals Level)
Toronto ON

The Croissant Tree - Atrium on Bay
Commerce Court West- 595 Bay Street
Toronto ON

The Croissant Tree – Commerce Court
Commerce Court West, 199 Bay Street, Box# 485
Toronto ON

How about free WiFI spots? Also I'd like a search engine that has
automatic mapping of the hotspots so I can find one close to where I
am. Jiwire does not seem to do this (yet?).

Ask, and ye shall receive...

A list of free wi-fi spots in and around Toronto can be found at the
appropriately named WiFiFreeSpot site:

http://www.wififreespot.com/can.html

Free access in the Toronto area includes Sony store, Miofrio Cafes,
and a few other sites.

For a map, turn to our friends at Nerds Under Glass:

http://wirelessbandit.nerdsunderglass.com/

Just enter Toronto in the city name, and Ontario in the Province name
boxes, and set your distance paramaters (even 1 km turns up quite a
few hotspots) and voila...a map.

Let me know if you need anything else...have fun "warwalking":
