Dear researchers, I am nearly 27 weeks pregnant, and have been too dizzy the past two weeks. I went to the doctor and they did some blood tests and blood pressure, and it appears that all tests came back normal. They did the whole exam, but I am going to see the gynecologist Monday. I am telling you, I am constantly getting these dizzy spells, where they last only a few seconds, but it is horrible, I even get them when laying on my left side in bed! What tests should I be asking for, and what should I watch out for? Thank you so much! PS: these "spells" are followed by extreme fatigue, and a really lousy general feeling. Thank you! |

These are suggestions based on my personal experience and are definitely not meant to be construed as medical advice. I'm sure a 'real' GA Researcher with medical expertise will give you a comprehensive answer, but in the meantime, here is some friendly advice: Dizzy spells are scary and if nothing is showing up in blood tests and your blood pressure is normal, then I would be asking them to check 1) Your ears for an inner ear infection which is notorious for causing dizzy spells. 2) I also would ask for kidney function tests. Kidney problems can cause dizziness. 3) Have you been checked out for gestational diabetes? 4) Then, I would ask for a consultation with a dietitian. It could be your diet is lacking in something you need, e.g. folic acid 5) something really simple, like are you drinking plenty of water. Best wishes and I'm sure everythign will be just fine. |

OK I saw my doctor, and they told me to be calm and lay down a lot because the blood pressure was pretty high. That is what it was. Thank you for your comment! |
