I have a Canadian fundraising company which plans to enter the US market within the next few months. We will be hiring local (American) workers in one or two cities to work outdoors (so it can't be too cold!) soliciting non-cash donations on behalf of registered charities. I've done some work for US clients with telefundraising in the past and I know state regulations vary widely. I would like to be pointed towards the following resources: 1. advice on operating a Canadian business in the US which eploys US workers or foreign ownership of US businesses. 2. information on state regulation of face-to-face fundraising in various states, specifically Washington and California. Information on registration requirements, bonding for emplyees who might be handling CC informaiton, etc. would be very useful. 3. any information about government incentives offered to businesses creating jobs in the US will bring a nice tip! Many thanks, James. |
