There was a Kodak TV Commercial where a cat was going into the garbage
and a dog took its picture to give to their owner.  What is the breed
of that dog?

Are you certain it was a Kodak ad?  It sounds like you may be
referring to a Polaroid ad from 1996.  You can view a view screenshots

"I'm trying out to figure out what breed of dog these two dogs from
the movie OUTBREAK are. They aren't in the movie too much (just the
beginning, I think). They're Dustin Hoffman's and Rene Russo's dogs.
They're large, coat with brown, white, and black, and look similar to
Saint Bernards, but they aren't. They're not Bernese Mountain Dogs
either. I really like them...Maybe they're mixes not sure. There's
also one on the commercial where the dog uses the Polaroid camera to

While I have not been able to find a video of the Polaroid commercial,
I did re-examine the movie "Outbreak." The dogs that belong to the
Dustin Hoffman character in "Outbreak" look to me like Great Swiss
Mountain Dogs. Here's a page that contains some photos of this breed:
