I need a way to remotely connect to 2 users who cant get broadband because they live in remote locations. The locations are Jamul, CA (AC: 91935) Bonsal, CA (AC: 92003) I used to use StarBand to connect to used like this, but can not use it anymore. Now we use Outlook connecting to an Exchange server. This works over MAPI, not IMAP or POP3. MAPI does not work over satellite because of the latency. I need something that does not have large latencies, and that isnt firewalled behind a proxy server (I control the client PCs with VNC and Remote Desktop, so I need to be able to connect to them by reaching their IP numbers). I also need to be able to do VPN and audio conferencing. I heard there were now microwave solutions and solutions that use cell-like sites. Maybe there is now DSL in these two area. There wasnt 5 months ago when I looked on dslreports.com Any ideas? |

What about remote access software such as Symantec's PC Anywhere? This establishes a direct connection between 2 PCs, one as the host and one as the (controlling) remote, and would allow the passing back and forth of files, but not really real-time chat. Are you interested in these types of solutions? omniscientbeing-ga Google Answers Researcher |
