Hello, I have an old IBM Thinkpad 560E (model 2640-40U). It includes 2 pcmcia Type-II slots, but they are not cardbus. I would like to know where to find a pcmcia-to-usb (usb 1.1 is fine) card that can be used on this laptop. (I've read some forum post stating I might be able to use a pre-cardbus 32-bit card, but this is unconfirmed). If it is proved that this is not possible, then I am interested in a bluetooth adapter that can work in this laptop. FYI: I use linux so all of the above must function therein. Thanks |

I'm not aware of any non-Cardbus USB cards, but you will be able to find a few PCMCIA Bluetooth cards which are well-supported. One of these is Brainboxes. One of their cards is here: http://www.brainboxes.com/products/bluetooth/product.asp?id=BL-500 It was one of the first cards supported under Linux, and they even have a dedicated page here: http://www.brainboxes.com/support/linux/index.asp |
