I'm doing research on folklore, and came across a statement that elves hate fairies. I have two questions: 1. Why do Elves hate Fairies? 2. If not Elves, why do any 4th dimensional beings dislike Fairies? Please be as specific as possible. | |

for jjsmall1-ga. Your question raises a further question as to why people would believe in fairies, elves, etc. The whole subject is a spiritual one. It has to be as one of their attributes is to de-materialize. The only insight into spiritual things we have is the Bible. The Bible states that there are two types of spiritual beings. Angels and Demons. Apart from God himself and Jesus, who is his firstborn. Angels do exactly as God wants them to and Demons are rebellious angels, that chose to disobey God. Jude 6 says " And the angels that did not keep their original position, but forsook their own proper dwelling place, He has reserved with eternal bonds, under dense darkness for the judgement of the great day. All the fairy stories involve magic and God disowns anyone who practices magic. Leviticus 19:26 " You must not look for omens and you must not practice magic. This scripture indicates that there is such a thing as magic, but anyone doing what God wants will have nothing to do with magic, especially as regards entertainment. And because fairies are involved in magic, and practice it, therefore they must be demons, directly going against God`s command. Q.E.D. |

Contrary to pugwashjw's assertion, there are plenty of sources of insight into spiritual things. Some of the better known ones include the Torah, Koran(sp?), book of Mormon, and so on. Even when it comes to "the" bible, there are many, many versions, each with their own viewpoint, translation, and (imo) agenda. Then, of course, there is the biggest source for "spiritual" insight -- the huge volume of folklore that has been handed down over many centuries in many cultures. As Missy and Techtor pointed out, the interpretations of these sorts of things are as varied as the many peoples of earth. This, of course, is what you were researching in the first place, and the biblical sermon contributed but pugwashjw probably didn't help. |

Elves was said to be anti-gay and thus didn't like fairies, but rumors that he isn't really dead are (as they say) "greatly exaggerated." |
