I wonder. How does an insurance companys insuring tiny wortfull items protect them selves against lies. Say "AXA-ART" or "Chubb and son" which insure between all art and rare books and collectibels, anyone can insure them, and we are talking about thousands if not millions of dollars which can be claimed lost stolen. I mean why do we keep hearing stories about people who burned down houses etc. insure a diamond sell it privately..yeh trace me ;/)... and claim it stolen etc. Would wish to hear a answer and I am sorry for my minor fee but I couldent afford more now. And is there any setistics to it? |

Why can a person with a terrible credit rating buy a car with no down payment? The answer is the same, insurance covers the loss, and the buyer pays the hidden premium to insure the loan. Insurance companies have the statistics, and they know how many claims to expect and can set their premium accordingly. Therefore, honest people share in the cost to insure dishonest people. The same thing happens in hospitals and clinics, who charge insurance companies for services and supplies not delivered. Insurance companies say it's cheaper to add the costs to the insurance premiums than it is to try to police the situation. Insurance companies know most people will deal honestly, and they can set the cost of their insusrance high enough to cover the fraudulant deals. |
