I am doing my Degree project in architecture and I am having a hard
time finding if there are any bulit projects that are similar to the
one that I am proposing. Which is the combination of an Elementary
School and Some sort of housing, (eg. low income, elderly). The
purpose of the combination is to deter after-school crime and foster
community interaction. Please provide the architect and location of the project.

I’ve started researching your question and I’ve found some housing
projects with various supportive services. I’ve also found some
housing developments that include programs in coordination with local
schools. I haven’t found any that include newly built/renovated
housing and an elementary school as a unified and coordinated project.
Would research showing various projects/programs coordinating housing
developments with community services or after-school programs meet
your needs? Thanks.

The more architectural the combination the better, for example the
simple solution of after school services does not particularly help,
but the coordination of housing developments with local school
programs sounds like it might be helpful. For what i am essentially
looking for are projects where the housing and the school (for the
case studies it can be any type school)share the same site. And as for
the research showing various projects/programs coordinating housing
developments with community services or after-school programs, sounds
like it may be helpful so long as each program has its own dedicated
space, and it is not just a boys and girls type organiztion utilizing
a community multi prupose room.
