I am looking for the name of a photographer that rigged up a hidden camera inside his car. He was able to make his car's engine backfire at will and simultaneously triger the camera's shutter, capturing the facial and body expressions of people on the street. An article apeared in the british press either this year or last showing some of the photographs, wich where taken during either the 60's, 70's or 80's |

Hi Capdequestion, His name is Howard Stone, who back then, was a "bored" delivery guy who had a naughty idea after discovering that the van he was driving can produce very loud backfires on command. After mounting a hidden camera pointing at the back of the car to photograph the startled people on the streets, the rest is history. Here's the link to Mr. Stone's website with pics of the result and his email: Howard Stone's Pavement Terror http://www.backfire.co.uk/ Some Additional Links: The Passenger (April 7, 1999 issue) Loud Report http://www.pre2k.com/passenger/040799.html Andrew Hill Newman's links Page This is Really on the Internet?! - Pavement Terror http://home.comcast.net/~meshugena/links.html You can find other related links by clicking on the last link below.
