Is this an electrical connector or a plumbing fitting. Can you give a
description of threads (male/female) or any other helpful info. Must
you have this exact manufacturer's part or would an interchange from
another source work for you.

This is a piping fitting. The part number for a part made by Monarch
is DS-17-1.00 and it is basically a double layer of pipe with the
inside pipe having the specified ID and the outer pipe (this second
concentric pipe provides the insulation and is the sleeve that gets
welded in the hole in the deck). The two pieces of pipe are a welded
assembly. It is made in conformance wiht Navy BuShip Drawing Number
502-4886321 and is made out of carbon steel. I can get it from
Monarch but if someone else can supply it, that is what I am looking
for.
