Your right, under the Fifth Amendment of the US Constitution, is to be "fairly compensated" and that is it. "Fairly" is the only issue in play. You are entitled to due process (an impartial judge) for that and you are free to hire any attorney that you like and that you can afford. Good luck. Where are you moving? |

Whether you want to see or not is immaterial. If the city wants your property, they _can_ take it. Your best bet is to hire an Emminent Domain Specialist to represent you for the duration of the negotiations. You are allowed this representation by law, and the cost of the representation will be paid for by the City. |
