Dear kyraeh-ga
I was amazed at the lack of information on the internet on this
particular part of Windsor Castle so I hope that this research answers
your question to your satisfaction.
I have found a good quality detailed photograph from the mid/late
Victorian period by Levy & Cie, French (active 1850s-1880s) in the
George Eastman House Still Photograph Archive. The image is at

For descriptions of the long gallery I have found two for your period.
King Chulalongkorn 's Letters from Germany, England and France to Her
Royal Highness Princess Nipanopadol in His Visit to Europe in 1907
"Windsor Castle has been remodelled quite extensively. There were many
changes in the corridor. Covered rows of electrical light bulbs were
also added to the inside of glass cabinets. Many contain exquisite
pieces of European porcelain. One cabinet contains jade pieces. One of
the two bowls decorated with designs of dragons with five-finger paws
was not there. I looked at the remaining one everyday and found that
it was much smaller than the ones we have in Bangkok and the blue
colour was paler. The portraits are all very interesting. Many are
portraits of the members of the royal family whose names were
mentioned in history. There are also paintings of important ceremonies
such as the Royal Wedding."

Sunny Memories of Foreign Lands V2 Author: Harriet Beecher Stowe,
1854
"One of the most interesting apartments was a long corridor, hung with
paintings and garnished along the sides with objects of art and
_virtu_. Here C. and I renewed a dispute which had for some time been
pending, in respect to Canaletto's paintings (...)Well, here, in this
corridor, we had him in full force.(...)We were quite interested in a
series of paintings which represented the various events of the
present queen's history. There was the coronation in Westminster Abbey
(...)Then followed, in due order, the baptism of children, the
reception of poor old Louis Philippe in his exile, and various other
matters of the sort which go to make up royal pictures."

This is a later comment in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (Pennsylvania),
October 4, 1996,
"Nichols added that she enjoyed seeing Windsor's 550-foot Long
Corridor hung with paintings and full of furniture and ceramics."

"Lord Brudenell received a hero's welcome on his return to England,
and was required to give a personal account of the action to Queen
Victoria Prince Albert, and their family - an event which is recorded
in a painting which hangs in the long corridor at Windsor Castle."

I hope this answers your question. If it does not, or the answer is
unclear, then please ask for clarification of this research before
rating the answer. I shall respond to the clarification request as
soon as I receive it.
