Hi uzzz, how are you doing?

As the internet matures, less becomes available for free and fees are
becoming more of the norm - it is no different for art prices
realized. However, the news isn't all bad - it is possible to
subscribe for one 24-hour period to gain full access to auction
histories on at least two popular sites.

Hello Hummer

Good to hear from you again. I appreciate you providing all of the
information that you were able to obtain on William Starkweather. I
will check out a city library next week (I am in a rural location
without a library nearby) to try to obtain some values of his work. My
interest is a limited one and not of a level to warrant subscribing to
a service. I was hoping to get a few recent realized sales values to
give me an idea of the market value of this artist who had a keen
interest in Atlantic North America.

Regardzzz

U

Hi uzzz,

Sorry, I should've posted what we found for you as a comment and not
as an answer. I will ask Google to remove my answer - please be
patient, it probably won't be removed until Monday. Don't feel bad -
it was my mistake.

Galleries and auctioneers consider auction prices realized as
proprietary information and a valuable commodity - you may be able to
find it for free but it won't be easy without alot of digging. The
realized prices for any given catalogue, such as Skinner below, may be
available at their website, but it's the collation of all that
information into a searchable database that is the proprietary part.
You can go to individual auction sites and explore their catalogues
and hope to get lucky - otherwise, visiting a large library is a good
option.

We've checked the first 5 catalogues but did not find any

Hello Hummer & Co (hmmm...how many are you?)

Please do not remove your answer. Answers are not always final...
that's why we have the Request for Answer Clarification option.

Thank you for the reply & especially the realized value. I now have an
idea of the market level of this artist. If you come up with any other
leads as to where we can find some values 'for free' please let me
know.

Best regards

Uzzz

Dear U. It's always a pleasure working with you too. Thank you. As
long as you are happy with the answer, that is the main thing.

Two, actually - we used to be three but we have been dogless for a
couple of years now, ever since our collie died. Most of the time I do
the research myself, but it seems that it is time to start giving
credit where credit is due. I didn't think of "& co" myself, a GA
questioner slipped that in and I liked it - I thought it would be nice
to use when I've had help with a question.

Thanks for everything, U.
