Hello there,

My observation your question on asthma is much the same as the comment
I made on your other question about rheumatoid arthritis -- the
country-by-country data is just now being compiled by international
organizations, so there is only a rough sketch available of what the
numbers may look like.

A recent report summarizes data available for asthma in adults in the
following countries or areas:

Country
Australia
--(Lismore)
--(Wagga Wagga)
--(Busselton)
--Australian Aborigines
New Zealand
Belgium
England
Germany
Spain
France
US
Italy
Iceland
Greece
Tristan da Cunha
Switzerland

The same report provides data for children in:

Australia
 --Australian Aborigines
New Zealand
England
Germany
Denmark
Spain
China (San Bu)
Kenya
Austria
US (Tucson)

There are almost 200 pages worth of information in this report,
including asthma incidence, prevalence, mortality, and changes is
occurence. But it is all in the context of a technical report, rather
than a simple one or two page table with summary data.

This may or may not be the report that Bobbie7 had identified...it's
difficult to be sure.

Let me know if this is of interest to you in your work.

i am happy with that providing that: 1. the infomation is expressed
as a number and not a percentage of the population. 2. The "asthma
prevalence in adults" section must contain info for Africa like the
children statistics do.

Clarification of Question by vodka-ga on 04 Nov 2003 08:57 PST
1. Will all the figures be expressed as a number ?

Hi Bobbie,
I will accept the answer if you can show the figures expressed in
numbers rather then percentages. Please ignore my prevoius responses.

Thanks,
Vodka

Hi Vodka,

Unfortunately the asthma prevalence data that I located is presented
in percentages, not in numbers.
