Hi Humbugxf ~
I had to chuckle at your Google name - and for some reason thought of
Christmas!
Since you have asked about marketing plans and then indicated you were
looking for samples, I'll include a few for you to wade through below.
I know they're necessary for many reasons, but can't they be just ever
so ... dry?
1. Morebusiness.com
(by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs) has a sample plan which
"includes tables and charts embedded in the text". Apparently they
recommend software, but use the basis of the software's marketing
plan:

In addition, the offer links to some more sample plans for various
businesses such as an accounting firm, travel agency, produce farm,
etc.

2. American Marketing Association (AMA) Certification Program
(considered among the best there is)
Developed by the students at Colorado State University, this marketing
plan sample provides a complete plan with excellent anaylsis. This
plan was a proposal for the American Marketing Assocation. Posted at
South-Western, a division of Thomson Learning.

3. About.com -
generic strategic marketing plan (in Word .doc format)
Utilizing SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) in
analysis to develop the plan.

4. Business Town.com -
sample marketing plan for "The tool"
This is a good basic plan with a lot of buzzwords, but has a good
outline and sample of how a marketing plan should look.

5. Mplans.com -
(Now we know where about.com found its information)
This is the same list as about.com had, minus their top frame, using
their software, Marketing Plan Pro. Comparing the plans, you can get a
good feel for what should be in a marketing plan and what 'can' be
there to give it legs.

6. How Stuff Works -
(DIY marketing plan)
This is an excellent step-by-step explanation on writing a marketing
plan, easy to read, easy to use, and produces a much better plan than
the software, to boot.

7. Star Software, Inc. -
(sample marketing plan in pdf format)
This is a good looking 11-page, comprehensive marketing plan for Star
Software.

8. Smart Online -
Has two sample marketing plans for you to download.

9. Report Finders -
There are a plethora of reports and plans available, including a few
marketing plans. All you have to do is request the plans be mailed to
you.
That should give you some information and samples to start from, as
well as information on how to gather the information you need to firm
a plan up.
My recommendation is either the "How Stuff Works" for DIY, or the
American Marketing Association's plan for a *very* comprehensive plan.
Good luck, and for some of these, you'll need something to stay awake.
It's not that they're bad plans, because they're all good examples.
It's that Marketing Plans can be a bit 'heavy'.

Serenata
