I need a list of potential names for a startup company.

The initial thrust of the company is expected to be Project Portfolio
Management services, but I don't want a name that will shoehorn us
into this market alone.

The company concept is to offer online business solutions (software as
a service) that both IT executives and business executives can use to
manage application requests, analyze their portfolio of projects, and
support the execution of the projects they choose to implement in a
collaborative, online environment.

Similar companies in this market are companies like
www.projectarena.com, www.systemcorp.com, collabnet,
www.vasoftware.com

While the initial thrust of the company will be in a specific
geographical region in the U.S., the services will be available to
anyone on the web....so the name should play in other countries as
well.

REQUIREMENTS:
    1. I don't want it to be about project management, developer
tools or come across too IT oriented. These services will help
management prioritize its projects (IT and non-IT), align them to
business strategy/goals, and then monitor project progress. So the
name should reflect the focus on helping business executives....not
just IT.
    2. A .com name is required. Please only suggest names where we
can get a .com domain.

In summary, a complete answer to the this question will include a list
of suggested names that allow for a .com name. Please indicate your
top five suggested names.

Hello wim58-ga:

It was a pleasure to answer such an interesting question. After
reading your description of the business, I scoured around the domain
name search engines to find the right name. As you may notice that I
didn't provide a list of hundred names because I think that quality is
important than quantity. It was quite a search because most of the
good domain names pertaining to your business were already registered
but fortunately few good one's were still there.

I am also providing you the names of 'my top 5' and the runner ups.
Just a reminder that my 'top 5' might not be yours 'top 5'. Anyway,
don't assume that it is the end. I will look out for more names if you
are not satisfied. I take it as my duty to serve Google Answer's
clients.

Please be reminded that the names were availble at the time when I
checked.

Whereever possible, I deliberately avoided the use of hyphen (-) in
the domain names so as to provide the image that the company is the
first one to select a certain name.

Following is the list and a brief summary of my decision for 'top 5'
names.
_________________________________________________________________

TOP 5 LIST (Not in any particular order)
_________________________________________________________________

Executiveserve.com (Executive Serve)

WHY CHOOSE? The name itself implies that there is something that has
something of interest to the executives and managers of a company. The
implications of the name are even broader and can be used in much
larger context.

Recordwise.com (Record Wise)

WHY CHOOSE? It is certainly one of the most interesting. Look at it
from different angles. Record wise can mean that there is something
that is informative, prudent, sensible or advisable and is related to
records or the information of the company. It also provides an
excellent image of the company. From another perspective, it can mean
a company that has a good track record (note! record wise). It can
also be seen as something that helps make better records, decisions
and information.

Execoware.com (Exec o' Ware)

WHY CHOOSE? The name here can be used on a global perspective and
provides a broader view of the company. The very first image that it
provides is that there is something (i.e. software, technical,
database) pertaining to help the executives and managers of the firm.
It should also be noticed that the term 'Ware' is widely accepted and
used in the modern marketplace and there are very few good
alternatives left. (If there are any left).

Pro-Jection.com or Pro-Jections.com
* see reference

WHY CHOOSE? If every one of us were English Majors in our colleges, we
would choose this term, immediately. OK! Projections.com was already
registered but wait a minute this term has a better meaning. 'Pro'
refers to professionals wherease 'Jection', is a latin phrase that
means, 'to hurl, fling, throw'. It is also used to describe a 'Hill or
a high place'. The term if used as is it, means, Professional Fling or
a Professional Throw.

Compare this to 'projection', that has only one meaning. This term can
be used simultaneously to describe two highly appropriate words.

Firmcare.com (Firm Care)

WHY CHOOSE? If all that matters is the image of the firm, than there
are very few good words. This is one of them. The first image that
comes to the mind is an image of the company that is dedicated to
'caring about other firms'. Look at it another way and the name means,
great care, solid care or fine care. Care for its clients.

RUNNER UP's
_________________________________________________________________

Here is my list of runner ups. Some of them might not make great
company names but they present nice '.com' alternatives.

Decisionwire.com (Decision Wire)
Also great company name. This term might suit you better than the
one's listed above. I regreat to put it as a runner up.

Mega-Solutions.com
(Great company name and a domain that is very difficult to get)

Execovision.com (Exec o' Vision)
(Good company name and an alternative to Exec o' ware)

Thanks for your answer to my question. I appreciate all your hard
work. It was a good answer and met all my requirements, but we have
decided to go with a different name than what you provided.
