Request for Question Clarification by pafalafa-ga on 29 Oct 2003 12:16 PST
Hello,

I have found only one distributor of this product so far, located in
Chicago. They can ship to Mexico, but they generally sell their
products to professional contractors (such as specialty concrete
supply companies, ready mix concrete producers, etc.), and they
generally sell in bulk quantities.

I can post their contact information and product information as an
answer to your question, if you'd like. But please understand that
they apparently restrict their sales to professional contractors in
concrete formulation and related businesses.

Let me know how you would like me to proceed on this.

Thanks.

If you can give the product infomation.

The contact information(name, telephone, fax, e-mail and a
salesperson of that distribiutor).

Finally, if they a company in Mexico which represents them I will
be completely satisfied.

Hola Herminio-ga,

Thanks for getting back to me on this.

The substance you are seeking is a bit obscure, in that there are not
a great many suppliers that I could find. However, there is one
company that does ship to Mexico to customers who meet the criteria I
mentioned earlier.

The company is Specco Industries near Chicago, Illinois, and their
website is:

http://www.specco.com/

The product you are looking for is Specco's W-30MF, with a CAS number
of 64787-97-9. It is characterized by Specco as a "Sulfonated
Melamine-Formaldehyde Polycondensate", used as a concrete admixture.
It is available in both liquid and powder form.

A description of the powder product can be seen here:

http://www.specco.com/products/Product.php?prodname=w30powder

"Specco W-30 Superplasticizer powders are high range water reducing
admixtures formulated to produce flowable concrete with extra
workability at minimum water/cement ratios. W-30 increases early and
ultimate compressive strengths, durability and improves the finish of
precast concrete by minimizing honeycombs and segregation."

and the liquid version (with much the same product description) is
here:

http://www.specco.com/products/Product.php?prodname=w30liquid

Note that the powder is sold in 50# bags or 200# fiber drums, while
the liquid comes in either 5 or 55 gallon drums.

==========

Although Specco may well have distributors in Mexico, they do not
distribute the product you need...W-30MF is available only directly
from the company in Illinois.

The contact at Specco who can handle your query is:

Thomas Hamilton
Specco Industries
Lemont, Illinois 60439
Phone: 630 257 5060
Fax: (630)257-9006

info@specco.com

Specco also has a toll free number -- (800)441-6646 -- but I suspect
it may not work if you are calling from Mexico.

Note that you can also click on the "Product Inquiry" button at the
company's web site to send them a query directly through the web.

I hope this is the information you need to get your material, but if
anything here is not clear, or if you need more information, just let
me know by posting a Request for Clarification, and I'll be happy to
assist you further.
