I am looking for a handeld with video possibilities. The requirements would be: Handheld: Basic functionalities such as contacts, agenda, tasks, calculator. No need for email or web navigation Video -Should play most common codecs including DivX -Shoudn't require to convert video before -Display at least size of normal handheld (palm for example). Archos multimedia player's screen is too small for example -Large storage space. At least 700 megs either on the device or easy attachable device such as CF card or usb drive -Long lasting recheargeable battery. (Is there an alternative? I could live with plug-it-in if nothing exist) -Hear phones plug -mp3 player would be nice Other: -BlueTooth would be nice -Transfer of video file should be rather quick (not desperate but faster then serial!) -Would be nice to easilly connect to alien computers when needed Price: -The price is something quite important since I am looking for the best solution at the lowest price. Is there anything around 500$ Am I dreaming at this price? If not, how much would a good solution be? -Is the solution also available to be purchased in Europe? Thank you! |

Hi, I doubt you will be able to find a handheld that will be able to play most DivX content without conversion. These are usually encoded for desktop PCs with 500MHz CPUs or faster, I doubt any handheld has enough processor power for this application. On the other hand if you are prepared to reencode videos at a lower resolution and bitrate, then you can probably find what you're looking for. Thanks. endo |
